The Bendix® ATR-6™ (K070951) is an electro-pneumatic anti-lock traction control relay valve for commercial vehicles with ABS and ATC. Operating on the R-12® platform, it acts as a regular service valve and active traction/stability interface. Its integrated solenoid supplies air directly from the tank to the ABS modulators upon detecting a loss of traction, applying controlled braking to the slipping wheel to regain traction. It allows for direct maintenance without disassembly.

  • Designed for use on heavy-duty vehicles equipped with Bendix® pneumatic braking systems with ABS and Anti-Slip/Traction Control (ATC), as well as advanced ESP® stability systems. It typically replaces the standard relay valve that controls the rear axle service brakes, although it is also used on front axles in advanced ABS applications. Its function is to manage regular service braking and supply immediate air pressure during traction or stability control events modulated by the electronic controller.
